B-Session Broadcasts Continue Transparency Efforts

Transparency is the foundation upon which our government is built. By continuing to develop a culture of transparency at City Hall, we can sustain the momentum we have built under Mayors Hardberger and Castro.

Beginning on Wednesday, June 4th, the City will begin broadcasting and archiving our council work sessions, also known as “B Sessions”, on Government Access channel and online. The City Council meets for B Sessions to hear detailed staff presentations about city departments, initiatives, and programs. These informal meetings are where the council begins robust discussions about public issues and they should be readily available to the public.

If you are interested in a particular issue or want to see your municipal government at work, tune in to TVSA on your TV or online beginning June 4th. TVSA is available on Time Warner Cable channel 21; Grande Cable Channel 20; AT&T U-verse channel 99 and ONLINECLICK HERE TO VIEW THE CITY COUNCIL A & B SESSION AGENDA

What are some other ways the City Council can work to become more transparent?

Thank you Abbey. I agree - any effort to improve process is important in restoring public trust. That is a critical goal in and of itself for all public institutions.

I'm glad council is doing this. Likely few people will watch, but transparency builds trust in the process, which makes the effort worthwhile. Bravo.
