Civic engagement is important because it keeps government accountable and it makes communities stronger. Councilman Nirenberg has spent the last year working to engage District 8 residents and include them in the governing process. From monthly D8 Dialogues, to live streamed B-Sessions, to this blog, our District 8 neighbors have more access to local government than ever before.
On Saturday, June 14th, the District 8 office is launching a new civic engagement initiative, the Community Development Council. The Community Development Council, comprised of any and every District 8 neighbor who is interested in improving our community, will work alongside our office, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations to plan public events throughout the year to promote art, culture, fitness, and unity. Together, we can make District 8 an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. See the flyer below for more information.
